Irma & The Fascinators – Lost Love

Irma & The Fascinators ist einer der Namen unter denen die Philly-Band The Larks Platten aufgenommen hat. Sie nannte sich unter anderem auch The Four Larks oder Irma & The Larks. 1964 nahm Barbara Mason mit der Band ihre erste Single „Dedicated To You/Trouble Child“ auf. „Lost Love/Just A Feeling“ spielten die Larks mit Irma Jackson bereits 1963 ein, brachten die Platte aber erst 1965 auf Scepter heraus. Was ich von Little Willie John halte, habe ich ja schon ausführlich geschrieben. Ein weiterer Beweis seines Ausnahmekönnens ist „My Nerves“, das er bereits 1956 mit Ernie Hayes (Piano), Mickey Baker (Gitarre), Carl Pruitt (Bass), David „Panama“ Francis (Schlagzeug), Bill Graham (Altsaxophon), Big John Greer, Lowell ‚Count‘ Hastings (Tenorsaxophon) und Danny Bank (Baritonsaxophon) aufnahm.

Der Hip City Soul Club feiert seinen 21. Geburtstag! Und das an zwei Tagen: Am Freitag im Bohannon und Samstag in der regulären Location Oscar Wilde. Und Marc hat für das Jubiläum wieder eine Geschenksingle gepresst, die am Samstag zu bekommen ist! Und eingeladen hat er wieder Rare-Soul-Schwergewicht Butch, der am Samstag auflegen wird.

Übrigens: VIP Hitman hat nichts mit Johnny Hitman zutun.
